The Household Cavalry
The British Household Cavalry are the Monarch’s ceremonial Bodyguard which accompany members of the Royal Family on important ceremonial events of State. The force is made up of regular servicemen who join the horse troop of the most senior British regiments including the Life Guards and the Blues & Royals ( formally the Royal Horse Guards ).
Repromilitaria Household Cavalry helmets offer a series of Officers and Ordinary Rank present day helmets for the 2 regiments of the Household Cavalry. These are excellent quality examples of the Life Guards and Blues and Royals headgear as used in such ceremonies as the Trooping of the Colour. All of the helmets consist of a silver shell with brass bound edges, onto the shell is fixed the large helmet plate which for officers are made in 3 parts consisting of a back plate with surrounds of oak and laurel leaves onto which is mounted an oval garter with the inscription 'Honi Soit Qui Mal Y Pense ' In the centre of the garter is a red Cross. For the O.R. trooper the plate is less ornate. The plates have QE2 crowns at the top. There is a brass plume holder and spike into which the red or white plumes are mounted. There is a chinchain in brass with a leather backing and this is attached to the shell with 2 brass rosettes. The helmets have a leather liner and cloth sack to the interior. The plume holders vary in style as they do on original helmets.
Life Guards
Cavalry helmets of the Household cavalry include the Life guards which are distinuished from the Blues & Royals squadron by their white plumes. Life Guard tunics are in red.
Blues & Royals
The Blues & Royals cavalry helmets have a red plume. Their uniforms differ in colour and cut. Blues & Royals of the Household cavalry have Blue tunics

We stock a range of original Household cavalry cuirass sizes from 00 to 5 . These front and rear breast plates are genuine ex Household cavalry stock. They are silver plated and hold a high polish. All of the plates are in good to very good condition but will have some faults such as minor dings / dents or scratches. The inside leathers are normally cut by the MOD prior to release.

The household cavalry brass cuirass straps are attached by way of a slot on the rear plate and the front section ( as shown in the photo ) has a 2 slot fixing to the dome nuts on the front cuirass thus giving the set a small amount of adjustment

1834 Dragoon helmet
Inniskilling dragoons
This is a full size hand crafted and excellent reproduction of the Inniskilling 1834 British cavalry helmet often described as the pinnacle of British helmet design.
It features an oval rayed plate onto which the Georgian cypher is added and the battle honours of Waterloo.A brass ornate band to the front contains the Regimental identity of the Inniskilling Dragoons.
The crest is in brass with an ornamental pattern of oak leaves and now soldered onto it is the brass leaping lion .
The helmet has large rosettes with highly detailed brass chin chains.
The helmet and parts are all created in brass. Most original helmets have lost there gilt finish and now appear to be worn to a brass finish.
Altogether a very pleasing helmet for display.

This is an impressive reproduction of the ornate 1847 Royal Dragoons helmet. It comes complete with chin chain, rosettes and black plume. The scull is a silvered one with a helmet plate made up of 2 outer bands of Olive & Oak leaves surrounding a rococo shield. In the centre of the shield is a silver hobnailed 8 point star. The oval shaped strap bearing the designated regiment of the Royal Dragoons with the Royal Cypher VR being at its centre.
This helmet followed the flamboyant styles of the 1820's. It is still considered to be overly ornate with the front and rear peaks having additional foliated leaf scroll work. The plume holder was also ornate with upward tapering finials.

The dragoons guard scull is a brass one with a helmet plate made up of 2 outer bands of Olive & Oak leaves surrounding a rococo shield. In the centre of the shield is a silver hobnailed 8 point star. The oval shaped strap bearing the designated regiment of the Kings Dragoon Guards with the Royal Cypher VR being at its centre.
This is an ornate helmet, but not quite as flamboyant as the styles of the 1820's. It is still considered to have an overly ornate front and rear peaks with additional foliated leaf scroll work. The plume holder was also ornate with upward tapering finials.

Repromilitaria offers a range of reproduction British Dragoon Guards cavalry helmets for Ordinary Rank troopers All of the helmets consist of a brass shell with brass bound edges, onto the shell is fixed the helmet plate which is a star plate onto which is mounted an oval garter with the inscription 'Honi Soit Qui Mal Y Pense '. In the centre of the garter on a black background is the figure which represents the regiments from 1 to 7. There is a brass plume holder and spike into which the plume is mounted. There is a Dragoons chinchain in brass with a leather backing and this is attached to the shell with 2 brass rosettes. The helmets have a leather liner and tie to the interior.
